Disclosure: Obviously I enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I begged for an advanced copy of the last one. I am impatient. I needed to know what was going to happen to our heroes. Especially after leaving us with that ending in Wower. Fortunately, the author needed a beta reader. The decision to review is my own.By this point, Barry had begun to grow on me and I was getting a little more wrapped up in the action of what was happening with the characters who weren't Jack, so coming back to him took me a bit of getting used to. Obviously, I'm not going to spoil the ending, but I will say, getting to that ending was a bumpy ride.
Sure, there were jokes, and more pop culture references including one heck of a head scratcher when I discovered who the leader of the vampires was. But there was some brutal action and a few things I very nearly can't forgive the author for. Which is a roundabout way of saying I loved it. A satisfying end to an epic romp. That's right, romp.
